In the days leading up to our honeymoon I decided to do a quick search for top packing tips when going on a summer vacation. As expected, there were TONS of articles on what guidelines to follow in order to make it a smooth process. I have compiled a list of my favorite tips to share with you all for your next trip below!
- If traveling with your other half, try to think smart when deciding how many bags to bring. There is always the possibility of a bag getting lost, and then you are stuck in paradise without all of your essentials. One way to combat that disaster is to both bring a carry on bag with the things that you simply can't live without while you are gone. Of course keep these within the TSA restrictions guidelines (small bottles for liquids) and keep it to the bare minimum so you can fit it in the above bins. Then grab a larger suitcase to put both of your extra necessities in while keeping it under the 50 pound weight limit.
- Money can be tricky, especially when traveling to a different country. We were lucky enough to find an all inclusive resort so that all we needed money for was gifts and tipping helpful hotel staff. We made sure to contact credit card companies ahead of time to let them know where we were going, and then got out lots of dollar bills to keep the drinks coming while lounging by the pool :) The hotel room safe was put to use for passports and any cash we knew we wouldn't need for each day.
- Making copies of drivers license's, credit cards, travel info, etc. helps in case anything was lost or stolen. Hate to think of the negatives, but these things do still happen in paradise.
- Rolling your clothes rather than folding them helps take up less space and limits the amount of wrinkling. I also put smaller items inside of my sunhat and beach bags in order to maximize space and keep things from being bent out of shape.
- If you wan't some fun underwater photos or videos, check out this link! We bought this case for only $18 and it worked absolutely perfectly! Not a single drop of water on my iphone.
Some of my favorite items for the beach! I packed these in our beach bag ahead of time so it would be easy to find what I needed when it was time to hit the sand!
Neutral heels and bright, breezy dresses were my go to looks for the most AMAZING honeymoon. Both compliment that tan skin from a day spent lounging on the beach and scream vacation. Be sure to keep an eye out for my upcoming post on my favorite outfits from the trip and where I got them :)
Hope these little tips help you out on your next vacay to keep the stress levels down as you get prepared!
